Mothers are very special people. They bring us in to this world, change our nappies, chase after us day and night, deal with temper tantrums as kids, do their very best to guide us through the tricky teenage years and in the adult years, they become great friends.
Perhaps your mother wasn't a great mum. Or maybe your mum doesn't live close. Maybe your mum is no longer around, and you wish that you could say 'I love you' and 'thank you' once more. Maybe some other special lady stepped in to the place where your mum should've been. But regardless of what situation you have been faced with, what stage of life you're in, you fit in to at least one of these categories: daughter, sister, mother, aunt, mentor and friend.
So let's celebrate all kinds of 'mums' - blood related or not. She is fierce, she is bold, she is loving and oh, she is strong.
