The First Step to Finding Your Purpose

Do you ever feel overwhelmed when you hear the word purpose?

Do you ever feel like you are missing out on something that others have?

As a believer in Christ, purpose is in your DNA.

But sometimes it can feel like like that purpose is a little cloudy.

Today I want to talk to you about the first step to getting that clarity you so desire and uncovering your purpose.

Are you ready? Lean in.

The first step to uncovering your purpose is to know God.

No, it’s not rocket science. But it is the most important thing you need.

God is the one who breathed life in you - He formed you in your mother’s womb, and He knew you before that.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
- Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV)

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.”
- Psalm 139:13 (NIV)

God created you in His image.

“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
- Genesis 1:27 (NIV)

God knows you intimately - everything about you: the good, the bad, and everything in between. And He loves you so.

In God you find your identity.

To know God is to know who you were created to be.

So if you’re on this search for purpose, as we all are, start with God. Get to know Him and His Word. Understand what God’s purpose is for christians here on earth. Learn about the people mentioned in the bible - their stories, their challenges, their relationships with God. Learn all that you can about Him and come to know Him more - then you will begin to understand your purpose in God.
