Some things just can't be explained.
Like the experience I had this afternoon, sitting on a bus home from work. I was tired and ready to go home, and quite frankly just wanted to zone out. But I put some worship music on and as the songs played through, I was reminded that I am wrapped up in the arms of a loving Father, a good good Father. And there, on a bus, in the freezing cold, I felt at home. Let me tell you why.
He provides comfort. I will never be alone.
He gives joy. I have direct access to the ultimate source of pure happiness.
He exudes peace. I can hand my worries over to Him, and I can rest.
He is light. There is no darkness in Him. Through Him, I can be light.
He is love. I am unconditionally loved.
You see, you don't have to be anywhere special to experience God's presence. All you need to do is open your heart to Him. He waits for you day and night. He never tires of waiting for you to turn your gaze His way. You are His beloved, and He longs to bless you.
But like I said, some things just can't be explained. And God's presence is one of them.
I could tell you about my personal experiences and quote scripture and show you incredible instances throughout scripture where people have personal encounters with God time and time again, but my explanation simply won't cut it.
Whether you're a christian or not, or just wondering who this God is, I encourage you to open up your heart to Him. I encourage you to put some worship music on, open up the bible - the book of Luke is a great place to start - and find out for yourself.
And hey, I am always cheering you on for your journey. I'd love to hear from you. Comment on this post and let's chat!
